Being a young and passionate bike enthusiast, Nathan has now mixed that passion with work and opened 1st Project. Nathan’s aim is to create a store where all levels of cyclist can be comfortable to bring their bike in and know they will be greeted with exceptional service and be exposed to some of the best cycling products on the market.
Ryan Kimberley
Head of Banter (HOB)
With more than 15 years in the cycling industry across wholesale, retail, and time spent on the tools, Ryan’s seen just about every side of the bike world. At 1st Project, he’s focused on delivering a more personal, customer-focused approach to bike retail—no matter what or how you ride. Always up for a chat about past rides, race stories, or a bit of banter in store, Ryan brings plenty of experience and even more enthusiasm.
Jay Dougrey
Vice-President of Fun and Games (VPFG)
After 15 years of sales and bike fitting experience at Total Rush, Jay brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to 1st Project. Having worked with riders across performance road, triathlon, and mountain biking, he’s passionate about helping every cyclist get the most out of their bike through precision fitting and setup. Jay’s approach is all about understanding each rider’s goals and delivering a fit that enhances both comfort and performance. Always up for a chat about bikes, races, or a bit of friendly banter, Jay is a great addition to the 1st Project crew.
Ryan Schilt
Director of Questionable Decisions (DOQD)
Ryan has been immersed in bikes his whole life—riding, racing, and wrenching on them since he could walk. Obsessed with bike tech and speed, he’s always happy to make your bike faster and leave the hard part to you. A former Dutch national track champion, motorcycle tragic, and passionate Vespa rider, Ryan knows his way around anything with two wheels.
